However, when pressed further, nearly all (about 94%) of home-based business owners were actually using cloud-based services. The study found that:

  1. I don’t run a home-based biz but I do own a laptop. There’s just no way I’m going to do without Carbonite. It doesn’t matter if you run a biz or not, as long as you own a computer, it must have some kind of backup service. I choose Carbonite to provide that service.

    1. I’m not surprised at all with the high percentage of businesses not backing up data. The problem with some folks is that they think they will be spared. Truth is, no one is spared from data loss. In my years with Carbonite, I have experienced accidental file deletion and computer crashes. These were more than enough reasons for me to lose data. My leverage over these inevitable situations is Carbonite.

      1. I got the blue screen of death on my computer and I had no idea how to get out of it. It just kept on showing up. I was pissed but didn’t panic at all since I had Carbonite on my computer. But I get your point. Anything can happen but with Carbonite backing up our files, it doesn’t hurt that much to have issues with the computer.

  3. In my own personal opinion, these home-based business are still not fully aware of the affordability and reliability of online backup. I also run a small business from home. A friend of mine, who is also running his own business from home, told me about Carbonite. That was about three years ago. To this day, my business (together with all my personal files) are still being backed up by Carbonite. There’s really nothing like having the peace of mind that all my business data are safe and secure.
